Yeah, none of that addresses the issue I raised.

Unpopular opinion, but that seems pretty unethical to me, regardless of how unethical this guy was. Hurting the guy's ability to support himself or a family for his whole life... Sure he's a piece of shit now, but people change.

Insane. Also sounds like your coworker was a real idiot. That lie is easily disproven by a simple google search.

My guess is that they have the time and place the winning ticket was sold, and they have him on camera purchasing the ticket at the time and place. No one's going to give 2 Billion to someone without some verification on their part.
My guess is that this is 100% legit.

We're at the point with chips that they're so small that we're running into issues with Quantum tunneling causing errors. Silicon for chips is really at its limit. Moore's law has slowed considerably because of this.

Being free but in a shitty personal situation are not mutually exclusive. And he doesn't have the freedom to run and avoid consequences. No one has that freedom.

If they can inject a rat brain with human brain cells and it assimilates, especially in an already developed rat brain, imagine what it could do for people. Inject brain matter to make yourself smarter? Maybe, but probably not? Inject brain matter into the brains of those with a traumatic brain injury or who are otherwise "brain dead"? Might bring people back from the dead. Who knows until we try it?

They also say “all life is sacred” when clearly they don’t mean it.
