I could be wrong because I'm not familiar with his entire body of work, but Paul Rudd has never really evolved as an actor to me --- he was playing a safe and charming "guy next door" in Clueless and 30 years later he's playing those same kinds of roles --- I like him as a person but I don't really see any growth as an actor

I'd have to agree --- from "Risky Business" to "Days of Thunder", he just seemed like a cocky asshole who always found a way for things to break his way --- but after roles like "Born on the 4th of July", "Last Samurai", and "Magnolia", I finally realized this guy can really bring the gravitas to a character and get you totally invested in the story

I know it's old school but I never liked any of Robin Williams early career stuff --- from "Popeye" to "World According to Garp", it was all forgettable cringey stuff --- but when he started doing quality roles like "Dead Poets Society" and "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "Good Will Hunting", he really won me over as a superb actor who could bring the emotional feels in a scene

F&F is definitely a ripoff of "Point Break" --- I think Vin Diesel even admitted it

I like "Point Break" better but I can't understand at the end when Johnny Utah pulls out his FBI badge and throws it into the ocean --- why did he do this? I know he "kinda" let Bodhi escape but he knew Bodhi was gonna die anyway trying to surf those 100-foot waves! So I can see him getting reprimanded by his superiors but not fired for doing that. At least in Fast and Furious it's easy to see why Brian got fired because he deliberately let Dominic escape.

After all these years I can't figure out why that movie took place during Christmas time --- maybe it's because Riggs was sad and alone after his wife died and Murtaugh was trying to cheer him up, which is a Christmas-y thing to do

It reminds me a lot of the first Rambo movie because it focused on the PTSD that a cop or soldier is going through, whereas the sequels are just corny action movies without all the psychological baggage

"Sound of Music" was always played during the holidays in the 80's and 90's but for some reason mysteriously disappeared from cable in the past 15 years or so --- not sure why it became associated with Christmas, but prolly had to do with a bunch of Austrian kids singing around the house and making their "Scroogey" father suddenly become cheery and pleasant again LOL

"Rocky 1 and 2" is a fairly accurate depiction of South Philly in the late 70's --- anyone who grew up or been to that area knows the rowhouses are exactly as they appear in the movie --- it's the kind of neighborhood where a hometown Italian guy could get people cheerin' for him as he ran his morning jog through the streets --- it's very unique to South Philly, the same way 80's Compton is a hood with a look unique to L.A. or the Upper West Side is unique to snobby wealthy people in Manhattan
