When I first picked it up it seemed like it was being marketed as a standalone but now it’s clear there will be another book. Not a fan of that marketing tactic but that’s the nature of publishing now I suppose. Like you, I was also drawn in by the beautiful cover.
I found some of the reveals quite obvious but there are still a lot of questions to answer so I guess that warrants a sequel.
