Most likely, that's the gap leftover after the vanity was mounted to the wall. The only way to "clean" back there is removing the vanity.

Went on a tour of Airbnb for a possible wedding venue for my out-of-state SIL. I found a dead cockroach in the basement and a dead rat in the in-ground spa. Needless to say, I persuaded SIL to go with another location. 🤷♀️
