The Rachel Carson Trail, and other connected trails in North Park, south from the pool/ballfields is really interesting. There are lots of routes around the ballfields, and most intersect the Rachel Carson trail at some point. It doesn’t matter which route you take, but once you’re on Carson, keep heading south and it drops into Pine Creek for a stretch where there is just some beautiful, isolated nature that feels so removed from city life.

We got married in the outdoor garden in October 2014. It was one of the few venues willing to accommodate our small wedding (less than 50). It ended up being cold and raining, but it was still a great setting for a wedding. Beautiful facility, and some great photo spots right across the road in the park too. As others have said the food options are limited, but from what I remember everything was good and well liked by our guests.

I liked that there is car access to the outdoor garden area so it was super easy for us to get our decorations and obligatory Pittsburgh cookie table set up in the limited window before the ceremony.

Today I learned…

I had zero idea Mr. Yuk was a Pittsburgh thing. Having seen these stickers throughout my childhood, I subconsciously assumed this was a federal government program. This is a really cool piece of Pittsburgh trivia, thanks for sharing OP!

Great to know that the stickers are still available too. Despite being cautious with cleaning chemicals around the house, my two and a half year old has been making me nervous lately!
