Reply to Cultivating a sense of perspective about pet loss can lead to post-traumatic growth after their death by chrisdh79
"Cultivating a sense of perspective about pet loss?" Here is what you need to know. Your pet if it is a cat or dog will die before you. You know that when you bring them home. If you are unable to clear that emotional reality you are going to be in trouble. A pet can bring you joy everyday but not a lifetime of companionship. Deepen your appreciation of the moment don't cling to it.

Ok, what is gained by cancelling the game? Certainly stop the game at an injury and make that the main focus. Once the person is off the field or the stands let the game resume. Stopping the game does nothing to help the health or health outcome. You just manage to screw tens of thousands of paying customers.

I like a ice cream but I loathe the word amazing. This will mean amazing advances at ice cream technology. What would be amazing it's might taste better might have fewer calories but it's not going to be amazing. This sounds like something a zealous vegan with sputter

I read Michael Collins change your mind not too long ago. In a lot of these psychedelic trips the goal is to experience an ego death according to my understanding of the book. It is letting go of that sense of self that gives us greater freedom. I've certainly taken those substances before but never at a level with the to achieve the goal of ego death. But I intend to

I read the article and perhaps it is for people with greater knowledge of the terminology . Mentioning that dissociation is a word used to describe mental detachment or separation which covers everything from normal forgetfulness to identity fragmentation does not bring any clarity to me

This makes sense to me. About a decade ago a guy donated his body to scientists who wished to try the Egyption mummification process. They knew the "recipe" but had been unable to do it before because of legal reasons. I seem to remember they even made a documentary on it. Anyway the expectations were that it body would look fairly more lifelike than the 2500 year old mummies they had unbandaged. The belief was the extreme darkness and shriveling was the result of centuries slowly drying out. To their great surprise (as I recall) was that the mummy looked like that right away. I figured the high priests just quickly wrapped it up in a bunch of bandages so no one could see how bad the job came out. One couldn't imagine that being a preservation job that would be acceptable

The thing about Calvin and Hobbes is the nature of Hobbes existence. Doe he exist only in Calvin's imagination? It would seem that way. Yet, there are other cartoons in the series to suggest that Hobbes is real and only Calvin can see him that way. This would explain the footprints in the snow? Watterson, the creator, has refused to say adding to the fun.

The far left gives you really alternative vibes on family issues. Gov. funded day care, Paid leave when a child is born for both parents. Great. On the other hand so many of the same people will be sneeringly dismissive of marriage or any of the traditional values and sacrifices people make. The rage and contempt is certainly noticed. News Flash; People are aware of what they are giving up to raise a family and make a lifelong commitment. Unfortunately with that tone it pushes people in the other direction even if that side is not offering viable solutions. Just very unfortunate.
