I tend to be more active on twitter, but thought this was an interesting discussion so posted it here too. The post can be seen on twitter by following the following link:

I am basing the prediction on the increased private investment due to demand growth, not specifically in flow battery technology.

Interesting take, thanks for sharing. Please could you explain what you mean by "benign systems"?
I agree such that the issues most commonly publicised by MSM are minor compared to some more evil potential ab(use) cases.

Interesting to see how the upgraded cell works despite the removal of so many parts. Battery demand, and last year's investment in battery technology is honestly unbelievably high. I see there being many battery breakthroughs in coming years.

Honestly the development of AI is starting to worry me... I think there is way too little legislation for people building models with AI. I think some sort of license and compliance training should be a necessity.
I feel like cancer research is always ongoing but there seems to be so few major breakthroughs. As so many people are impacted by cancer I would love to see more effective research made in the field. Both preventative and corrective.
I also value the importance of renewables, EVs, cheaper space transport, and less false propaganda (more truth!)...

I think Biochar is excessively shunned too

I truly support this research. I know someone who fortunately just got a kidney transplant, but she did have to wait more than 3 years for it. Dialysis several times a week and a highly constrained diet does not sound very nice... IMHO changes to quality of life and life expectancy should be overarching metrics tracked for any biotech company.

This is the thing... whilst the future seems to tend toward this... it would make us as humans more irrelevant. That is something I am worried about...
Good post though. I think it's also relevant to r/OurGreenFuture .

Reply to Will ChatGPT be able to write better code than any human within the next year? by [deleted]
Interesting topic for r/OurGreenFuture . I see your logic, GPT can write its own code, but needs input as to what it should write. Even as humans, we need input for what we should write code for - i.e we are assigned a task, and we write code for that task. IMHO I think AGI will take longer than 2/3 years to develop.

Reply to Considering the recent advancements in AI, is it possible to achieve full-dive in the next 5-10 years? by Burlito2
I highly doubt AGI in 5-10 years. But the world has changed a lot in the last 20 years so honestly it's hard to tell what is and isn't possible. As with a lot of things, I imagine legislative challenges will be a bottleneck in progress to applying AGI. Very interesting discussion topic for r/OurGreenFuture

Please comment on the original post in r/OurGreenFuture so OP can see your comment. Not sure I have well understood your point on AI atomically precise manufacturing research, please could you explain in more detail? We can barely get robots to replace humans in most factories.
