Homelessness in our modern society is inexcusable. Thank goodness for people doing what they can to help.

I wonder if the friend who tried to fight the bear had also gone passive if the bear would have just left them alone. Brown bears don't really eat people, and the guy who played passive just got a broken arm. Guy who tried to fight got absolutely mauled. Either way, I'm glad both are going to be just fine.
Black fight back, brown lie down, white goodnight. Black and polar bears will eat you, but black bears are often small enough to fight off. Polar bears are far too big. Brown bears won't eat you, just fight until they feel the threat is over.

First of all, you can pay a little extra to offset the emissions of your travel. Second of all, these two women are not even a tiny drop in the bucket. The bucket is 99.99% full of corporate waste. Third of all, it is uplifting to see people at an advanced age still living well and exploring.

A lot of people act as if by 60 life is over. These women are much older and still seeing the world. That's why it's uplifting.

Reply to comment by [deleted] in 4,500-year-old Sumerian temple dedicated to mighty thunder god discovered in Iraq. by Rifletree
You've got your timelines quite mixed!
The first evidence of the Sumerian religion is about 6500 years old. The first evidence of the old Norse religion is about 2500 years old. However...
From what I understand, you can trace the origins of Thor to the Proto-Indo-European (PIE) mythology, to the hammer-wielding lightning and thunder god Perkwunos, which also is about 6500 years old.
Despite this, it is currently widely believed that Sumeria and PIE did not mix mythologies, so the connection between their thunder gods is not there (at least according to our current understanding).

Turtles do not grow to the size of their tanks, that's a myth similar to the one about goldfish and is unfortunately used to sell or justify keeping animals in environments too small for them. They will all keep growing as normal regardless of if it results in them having no room to even turn around.

The leopard in question is a subspecies, not a species.
The range of the leopard extends well beyond Turkey.
There are many more than 15-20 individuals in the wild, somewhere in the range of several hundreds.

Misleading title and article. But so it goes. I hope conservation efforts succeed. Actually upon further review some of the information in the article is just straight up not correct. Lol.

Don't forget the human menstrual cycle is quite regular as well. Could have been around 26 days so it would cover two "glyphs" which seems to be like months.
