Sauerkraut can easily survive 6+ months. I've eaten older preparations, both that I've made and commercially prepared, for longer than that, 10+ months. It took anywhere from ~8-12 weeks to sail across the Atlantic. Think the sauerkraut would be fine.

Beautifully done. I like the attention to detail, and I like how you left this one unlined because the inside drip sewing line does look very cool. Love the shape of this bag too, mini totes are fun! The long chain strap is sexy with the metal feet, love it that way!
