Reply to Nickelback or Creed? by Equivalent-Ad-1927
Creed. Most of my music-listening is to early electronic and psychedelic rock but.....My Own Prison was a really good rock album when it was released and it still holds up. A few solid tracks on the next couple but for the first album alone I'll go with Creed

Apple Cart Sink by Geezer Lake is one of my favourite songs from the 90s but the band just never made it out of their local scene. All three of their albums were really good and interesting

Reply to When music stores were way more prominent, did you ever just ask an employee for a random recommendation that ended up blowing your mind? What did they recommend? by duomtl
In a record shop many years ago I asked the guy behind the counter for an album recommendation, regardless of genre or style or anything else. I just wanted something to listen to, really. He told me it had to be Goat by the Jesus Lizard. And yeah, he was right.

For me it's the Swans Are Dead version of I Crawled by Swans. The way the music just creeps along slowly before exploding at the end is intense but it's Jarboe's vocals....frightening yet truly impressive.

I usually prefer long intros. And long outros. And long instrumental sections in the middle
