Anyway, this is awesome news. Huge congrats to how much India has done in the last 10 years to reduce extreme poverty.

Better than the alternative. You are blind to the damage caused by fossil fuels but it has killed millions and millions and driven species extinct by the wagonload. So sorry that your corner of Texas now has a solar farm on it but the alternative is climate catastrophe

Oh I see, you meant the second quotes. You misunderstood me using humor to point out the absurdity of the point they made. Allow me to clarify: I was using humor to point out the absurdity of the point they made.

It's a government linked church so it isn't like in the USA.

Yeah as a bisexual research scientist I cannot imagine how twisted your brain would have to be to say "it's up to the religion if they want to treat gay people like abominations haha 😊". Bro nah nobody should be home of phobic this take is awful.

This is incredible. Our species, hell, our entire biosphere could have been wiped out at any moment due to a big speedy space rock. The moon has been a huge factor in protecting us but we are a lucky species.
Now we have the capability to protect ourselves, and hopefully not have to rely on Bruce Willis and his plucky drill crew, or a man in a yellow jumpsuit and his robot friend.
Like I said elsewhere: to some people, DART might seem like nothing. But one day, this technology could mean EVERYTHING!

Well I'm hoping either you won't reproduce, or your grandkids end up smarter than you, because the ability to protect our young species from one possible source of cataclysm is pretty damn significant. It means nothing until it means everything huh

Sex can change and is not as binary as many of us were taught. Even if you mean sex as in chromosomal sex, in which case there are many variations and like many people living with no symptoms of variations.

History has shown that making something like gay marriage legal leads to a large increase in acceptance. Perhaps they are not causal, just correlated, but if you look at gay marriage acceptance in the USA you can see it increased a lot right after being legalized.

I think they are just "presumed extinct in the wild". There are a lot of species like that and most don't turn up randomly one day but this time we got lucky

So obviously it wasn't extinct because otherwise it wouldn't exist. But it's not always easy to find a small population of well hidden tiny creatures haha
