Well, yeah.

I love Yellowstone. Whole family does. And I actually dislike Kevin Costner quite a bit. He isn't what makes that show for me. It's everyone else and everything else around him to me. Now that being said. The writing has become abysmal starting at season 4 and especially this past season. 5.1. It's season 5. And the un filmed year later episodes season 6. This cut in half season stuff some shows do is ridiculous now. Major plot holes, characters not knowing things they showed us they did know, being ignorant of things it's simply not possible they're ignorant of. Etc. It's like episodes started being written with writers not knowing the continuity of the story thus far. It's weird, and very bad. And yes, Beth is a love her or hate her character. She doesn't grow but dammit is her and her nasty over the top outbursts fun to see.

But there's something almost hypnotic about the culture shown. The cowboy stuff. The stuff that people complain about oddly enough. The 'nothing happening' stuff. They could have a whole show about just the bunkhouse cowboys and their shenanigans and it would be great imho. It's not hokey old timey stuff like Gunsmoke and Bonanza. It's weird but it's like this culture, these landscapes have never been shown in our modern HD visuals outside of nature shows until now. Then these beautiful landscapes and cowboy life is mixed with the mafioso style foul mouthed violent story.

The country music on the show. I mean it's there. For reasons that are essentially that all the local rock radio stations here either shut down or changed content to modern whatever passes as rock is rock. And my old fashioned ass still listens to the radio in the car. It was a choice of moving to the country stations, ear bleeding inducing political AM talk radio, or nothing in the car. Well I landed on country. I can't believe it. I was never a fan. And god help me I kinda like it. But, it isn't the music I hear on Yellowstone. The radio stuff is definitely more pop influenced where the Yellowstone stuff is more what I always recognized as country sounding. But I'm no expert on that subject.

Lol. That this is a real thing that exists in the world is absurdly delightful.

And it's the 2069 for some reason that sends it over the edge for me. It's not just "Sex With Hitler". It's like they thought, no no no, that's too mundane a title. Too forgettable. It's "Sex With Hitler: 2069" Oooh well now I'm interested. lol.

I don't particularly care for Forrest Gump. But Hanks is putting on more of a performance in that than Tim Robbins does in Shawshank imho. Not even that it was showier, just there was more to it. I think Morgan Freeman did a better job than Robbins in Shawshank actually.

Evidently I'm a different generation that use to be able to just enjoy a good movie without worrying about who is represented and how, what social boxes get checked and how and what may be offensive to people lifetimes from now.

I truly cannot fathom what it must be like to live a life being perpetually offended at everything.

It's better than the third one. It's very much it's own thing though and I kind of like it. Very weird and stupid a lot of times. A lot of the sets I remember looking like music video sets to me. The colors and costumes and such.

Tonic, Days Of The New, The Prodigy, Counting Crows, Collective Soul, NIN-The Perfect Drug in particular. Those band's video right from that time.

Saw it when I was in high school so all that was my thing at the time. Good god I can't believe that was 25 years ago.

The daughter had motive to paint her as nasty as possible. I mean I would have.

How much of it was true? Well, I've never once heard anyone talk about Crawford being a nice person. Anything but in fact.

So I'm inclined to believe what the daughter wrote. Because I'll put it this way. I'm aware of how my grandmother treated her daughters, my mom and aunts. And they weren't adopted. A mother being that nasty and abusive. That horrific. For control and out of spite. Children are there to be seen only, to make me look good, to do exactly as I say even as adults, etc. I've seen that crap for real and it's lifelong after effects on people. So none of what's in that movie is a surprise. My mom and aunts use to call the old bag that in fact. Mommie Dearest. Because of the movie.

lol. Called it. I've called it for years. The Dodgers can't win unless they're assisted with a shorted season like that faux 2020 season. They just don't have the stamina. They get almost there but burn out. And as per usual it's some bonehead call from Roberts. Oh look they have things within reach. Time for Roberts to change out the pitcher for who is this? Why?
