I have a pair of bright red Points as well and I live in them. So comfortable and chic yet practical. Can’t wait to thrift another pair!

My husband is a chef who swears by Chrome. His boots have taken a lot of abuse in three years now and still look like the day he bought them.

This is why I really companies that are transparent with their pricing. Everlane has this breakdown for their clothes (not that it’s all perfect all the time but that’s the example off the top of my head).

If you have Amish or Hutterite communities near you it may be worth it to buy from a person or community instead of a company. My Dad spent a nice chunk to buy my Mom a Hutterite down duvet and pillow in the 90’s and she’s still sleeping under it. The craftsmanship can’t be beat.

I really love the brand Silk & Snow. We bought their organic mattress almost two years ago and it’s incredible. We plan to get a new bed frame from them as well. Really good Canadian brand

Not sure why you were downvoted. It’s true - not everyone needs a truck. It’s smart to ask if it’s something you need or just want - first.

Ah yes I should have clarified! Their leather lasts a long time but I wouldn’t touch the faux stuff with a ten foot stick. I have zero luck with vinyl lasting

I’m still wearing my Grandpa’s Casio from the 80’s. It’s a tank.

I have SoftMoc brand sheepskin lined moccasins that are holding up brilliantly. They have a rubber sole on the bottom so if I wear them outside by accident I can just wipe the bottoms off. I’ve had mine for two years now and could see them lasting at least a decade if I don’t get them wet

I mean, that was equivalent to two months’ worth of mortgage payment back then. So yes, it was very expensive.

Yes! The higher-end versions at IKEA really surprised us. The midrange and lower priced options there were pretty bad. But even their most $$$$ ones aren’t that much considering the quality.

Yes. My grandparents invested in a new duvet and sheet set in the 80’s. My grandma spent about $300 on the sheets alone. The duvet was Amish down and about $1000. Thirty years later I still use those sheets and my mom still uses the duvet. They were sickeningly expensive but will probably outlast us!

Yes! I use a Sunlight laundry soap bar directly on the stain and then a good oxygen bleach soak. Hanging them to bleach in the sun helps as well. I should try your trick of using rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. I use some in a regular bottle sometimes but it’s messy and sloppy
