The cheaper part is a ploy to the phony fiscal responsibility crowd. They won’t help people just to help people. After all, they believe it’s gods will that people have misfortune or that their sin caused them to become addicted

At what point do we decriminalize heroin and regulate / tax it? I’d imagine it’s cheaper to keep addicts safe and doped up than is to support the war on drugs and all the crime that comes from the drug trade / property theft. It doesn’t say people can’t take drugs anywhere in the Bible, right?

The ACLU is already looking into suing them.
Also, way to prepare your kids for the real world by sheltering them from complex topics and sheltering them.

Agreed. That’s why we have laws that drivers need insurance to pay wrongful death claims etc. and why every parent should have life insurance. I’m good with punitive damages on top of what insurance pays out, but lots of these guys are scum and don’t have a pot to piss in. Having a drunk driver working a min wage job after spending time in prison isn’t gonna be the boon for your kid

This is the result of us sharing our energy with our neighboring states. We produce third most electricity in the country to offset other states that don’t have the same capacity.
Everywhere is cold in the us. They’re asking us to cut back to help out our neighbors

Which is why they are very vague around the reasoning for the ordinance. Can’t come out and say it without having a case in front of a federal court

Yes. Guardians of. And yes I’m talking about this scenario where people can’t take care of themselves. They often get neglected and can be a disturbance to the town, so the towns pass these ordinances like the one above to keep them from happening in their community.
Not weighing in if it’s right or wrong, just that it’s not always evil landlords trying to squeeze renters, though I’m sure that’s certainly a scenario that happens

A lot of times they are. There are foundations that get state funding to pay for living expenses. People involved in the foundation pay rent to themselves in homes they bought and don’t do a great job of looking after the people they’re wards of.

Let me take a different perspective here. A lot of areas do this to make it so you can’t convert houses to apartments and put a bunch of wardens of the state into those houses. The rent goes to the landlords who neglect the tenants and they end up walking around town and stealing from stores, etc.

Back in 2016 they allowed funding that was allocated to bolster the system to lapse and not be used. Additionally they blocked house Bill 549 which would streamline the UE process to make it faster.

Nah. If my neighbor was hanging flags that the election was stolen and just being a general degenerate, I would say hi and move on. You don’t need to break bread with people who are totally untethered from reality

No, but answering your dismissive statement that both political parties are the same and that voting doesn’t make a difference gives me a smug satisfaction.

Time to stop fraternizing with those loons. I know they can be nice in a person to person sense, but anyone radicalized enough to believe the election was rigged has a lack of critical thinking skills and that probably goes further than politics

You realize that all the money in the state coffers comes from the blue areas? If we just kept money at the county level based on what people paid in taxes, you’d have worse schools, roads and other infrastructure almost immediately
