Might mean CO2. I have one of those. It is an indicator or air quality (not as deadly at the same ratios as CO). I also have may CO alarms/detectors.

Completely agree with the joint venture not being a great solution. In the uk we have (had?) joint venture. If you were at the murder, even if you didn't hold the knife, you were a murderer. In this case it looks like they are all co-conspirators to murder/manslaughter at least.

At work we essentially use a rockwool product for pipes. Rockwool with plastic outer tubes. Bigger than home pipe insulation and also works up to steam temperatures. Unless I was running a recirc pump I would go with standard home depot pipe insulation.

There are some led bulbs which are rated for like 90v-240v but these are rare
