Thanks for listening! Bungle is great. They can be pretty funny, can get pretty dark, absurd, and occasionally lyrically poignant. They released three major label albums in the 90s and each one of those albums sound very much like any of their other three and to describe what each if those albums sound like requires a lot of words and adjectives because they will change genres and styles mid-song often. They did release another album a couple years ago which is their only album containing one particular style wich is thrash meral and the album is a rerecording of their first demo tape that was initially recorded when the members were in high-school.

There is something very unique about Texan music. Those cats you mentioned, Townes van Zandt, Roy Orbison, The Geto Boys, DRI, countless weird punk bands, plus all of the early blues/country/folk artists who probably fostered newer artists sense of adventure

I have a weird one. I was walking down a sketchy sidewalk in Orando, FL at dusk when a guy popped out of some shrubbery and asked if I wanted to drink with him in the bushes. I politely declined but we talked for a couple minutes and I mentioned that I'm from Maine. He said that an ex-girlfriend of his lives in Porter which is the town next to where I grew up, kinda surreal

I never asked for one but the one I frequented 02-05 had staff who knew what I was into and would toss out a rec on occasion. A couple that come to mind quickly : Buck 65 - Man Overboard, Ethel Duath - The Painter's Palette, Radiation 4 - Wonderland On top or that I was always checking out the section that had employee picks and I know I discovered a few artists and albums that way.
