I noticed the second bill says “whose principal place of manufacture is outside of this state.” Any idea what the significance of that is?
Also curious to hear if any breweries or the RI Brewers Guild has a take on this.

Didn’t know that about Buttonwoods— that’s good to know!
Origin is one of my favorite breweries around. Really like their low ABV beers, and I think there’s room for more of em in the local market.

Very excited for this! As a huge craft beer fan, there really aren't any breweries nearby doing low ABV and cask beer. Hopefully they'll have a nice little niche brewing some unique styles for the area.

Totally agree! I didn't include Tilted Barn since it's about 30 minutes drive from Providence. But it's for sure one of my favorite RI breweries.

The ones you’ve been to are among the best options in Providence. Revival and Providence Brewing are other options that are both okay.
If you’re willing to venture one city over, Buttonwoods and Origin Beer Project are quite good.
It’s not a brewery, but Bayberry Beer Hall has an excellent craft selection.

There aren’t any breweries in RI that make nonalcoholic beers so far as I know. From what I understand they’re quite hard to make.
Origin Beer Project is likely you’re best bet for low ABV beers. Looks like they have 2 available right now at 4.0% or less.
As others have mentioned, more and more bars are carrying good NA beers now. I’ve tried a ton of them, and Athletic is my favorite. They’re definitely #1 for NA IPAs for me. If you’re into Guinness, their 0 beer is very close to the original.

Reply to How can we advocate for pedestrian safety? by mkspo
We need to advocate more to the city and the new mayor, who is very pro-business and seems more likely to be concerned about roads for cars than for pedestrians and bikes. He needs to hear this a a priority for people or he’s just going to focus on the other stuff that people complain about, like speed bumps, snow plowing, and pot holes that don’t do anything for pedestrians.
The “how” for that is a bit trickier to figure out, but there will undoubtedly be opportunities to speak at public meetings on this.
Obviously, we can call and message the mayor’s office as well as city counselors at any time too.
And sure, North Main may be a state road but the city will have at least some input on changes made.

I'm not sure about 16 bedrooms, but I've stayed in a 12-bedroom airbnb in Lake Tahoe. A quick search shows some 14-bedroom places.

You can apply for health insurance through HealthSource RI. Even though open enrollment is closed, I'm guessing you qualify for a special enrollment period due to a life event if you're losing coverage you have.
Depending on your income you may be able to get subsidized coverage. The link above will walk you through this process.

Stop and Shop is inferior in every way to Market Basket and Whole Foods. It’s more expensive than MB and barely cheaper than WF.
Location and a bit cheaper than WF seems about the only advantage East Side had, and now TJ’s came in. RIP

Yeah, East Side Market is like my 4th choice in the area. We do our regular shopping at Market Basket in Attleboro and sometimes go to Whole Foods and TJ’s now.
I’m sorry for you and the other workers at East Side, but it’s just not that good by comparison.

It’s state land, so it’s Rhode Island Department of Transportation responsibility. Doesn’t seem very safe for regular people without safety equipment or vehicles to be out there doing this.

I'm excited and optimistic on it! Glad that it's going towards improveing walkability and bikeability in Providence.
Some promising statements here from Sen. Jack Reed:
>the project will help to “build out the network by creating last-mile connections to residential, employment, and cultural activity centers” between neighborhoods in the city and eliminate serious crashes for “vulnerable road users.”
“The trails are a combination of on-road and road-adjacent protected bicycle lanes and shared-use trails, neighborhood greenways on low volume streets, and off-road shared use paths,” the spokesperson added.

This is my experience at Tasca Seekonk as well. Seems absurd when you have an appointment.
They also rotated the tires on my van but didn’t check air pressure. Since it’s a cargo van, PSI is 52 in front and 80 in back. They had it swapped. Not good.
