For anybody else wondering, that weird stuffed animal is a character named Huggy Wuggy from an indie horror game called Poppy Playtime.

(I'd been seeing variants about this thing around reddit and finally googled stuffed animal with sharp teeth.)

I'm guessing that rather than accepting a simpler more meager lifestyle and adapting to shortages, the corporate plutocracy is just going to go all Genghis Khan and our future world of 3- 4 billion people is going to continue on with as much waste and abundance as before.
