I read this article earlier. The financial market data from LSEG can be integrated into services that Microsoft wants to add to its platform. Microsoft data analytic capabilities may add value by interpreting the data through visualizations. Microsoft also provides cloud services to the exchange, generating revenue. It also provides visibility for their cloud service capabilities to potential finance customers just like the NFL provides visibility for Surface.
