FHA is a 2 year wait, USDA is 3 years, and conventional is 4 years from discharge of BK. Some lenders will allow you to go conventional, but probably not if you have to carry MI

Sorry, I saw that right after I replied last. It’s a major no no to for a lender to send a social security number in the open web. Chat with the lender about it and if you want, you can file a report with the DRE for your state if you feel compromised.

Chances are nothing will come of it, but I’m not going to advise you to ignore anything because a leaked social, birthdate and address is a pretty big deal.

How did the lender get the email? Did you fill out an app online or did he just mistype?

And he didn’t have to put his social in to open it up?

There is a breach somewhere here. Lenders aren’t allowed to send docs through email unless you have signed the electronic consent form. But the saving grace is that loan docs are usually encrypted and requires the last four of a social to open and sign them.

So chances are slim that your info is compromised. Check with your lender on how they were sent out.
