Reply to Do you feel unmotivated to read a book when you've already watched the movie? by Maxinprogress
I struggled for years to get into Dune (the book). There's just so much getting thrown at the reader early on, it's all very strange, and I could never get very far. The recent movie was a great entry point for that world, and after seeing it, I finally "got it." Read the book and loved it.
Unfortunately, starting the second book in the series, it gets wierd again :)
When I was young, one of the books I read over and over was the novelization of Temple of Doom. Movie books are awesome!

True. She looks just as good in Top Gun Maverick. She is a classy lady.

Ah. Real Genius. Have to say I had a real thing for Jordan. Nerdy girl, right up my alley back then. It's a shame Michelle Meyrink quit acting.
Anyone mention Highlander yet? Pure 80s.

I want to watch Career Opportunities again but I worry watching Jennifer Connelly on that horse might not be quite the same at 50 as it was at 19.

Reply to History of where movies have streamed by [deleted]
I just buy what I want to watch from Google Play/YouTube. In the long run its cheaper, especially if you're one of those who like to have The Office or Friends on in the background. Personally, I find the streaming services a waste of money - but I'll sign on for one month a year and just binge whatever for 30 days. If Chappelle or Gervais puts out a new special, that's usually when I'll jump on board, but I always cancel the same day so I don't forget.

I delete them completely. If I have no plans to ever read them again, why hold on to them? Dropped my collection down from a couple hundred, to 3. The only 3 books I owned that I know I will read again and again.

This. There is a line, and they crossed it. Those people should not be allowed to make movies, or go out in public.

Reply to What was a movie that took more than one viewing to love and understand it much more? by Provav
One Cut of the Dead
Predestination
Both deserve and almost require a second viewing to really appreciate everything going on.
