I had to go down Dupont Drive on a Sunday afternoon recently to drop off a package at the Amazon Hub there. It was initially a bit chaotic, but the riders were at least staying away from me and my car.

I know it's not a solution, but I'd rather see them riding there on a Sunday when the majority of businesses there are closed, than up and down neighborhood streets clogged with kids...

Understood, and that's what they told me when I first called to get takeout several years ago. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let the customer decide if it was worth it or not, and instead chose to limit their business to dine-in only. I ponder if there would be that much deterioration of the noodles if they put them in a separate container from the broth as Wara-Wara does.

Not surprised, TBH. Food was good, but the whole "we don't do takeout" mantra ruins things. Second time I went I never got my order (left after waiting 45 minutes). Most recently over last summer it was decent, but not noteworthy.

I have taken three pets there for emergency services, and only once didn't like the bedside manner of one particular vet. The other two times were excellent, and I would go there again if need be.

Sounds good! I already have my Technician's-class license, and did the SKYWARN training two years ago on my own. Are you always "on-call", or is it a "if you can help, it would be appreciated"-type thing?

I love my city, and get wicked defensive when someone criticizes it. Sure it's not perfect, but what city is? It's just the right size, and has so many great amenities.

I started using my programmable thermostat (changing +/- 2°F), and have a super-insulated 40 gal hot water tank that only loses 1°F/hr. It wasn't the cheapest system, but it's saving me money every month (so far). Hope you can figure out where you can cut some cost!

I converted my system from oil to natural gas over the summer, and have been quite pleased with my bill. The last few years I've been paying between $225 and $250/month on a budget plan with my oil company, so my most recent bill of $175 was still lower than what I'm used to!

And you are correct: it could've been a meteor. The Quadrantid meteor shower was about a week ago, so that is a definite possibility. I stand corrected.

Let's think skeptically for a minute...

What's the more likely explanation for what was seen:

1. Some alien craft
2. A satellite
3. The ISS

The simplest explanation tends to be the right one. I've given a scientifically accurate, unbiased explanation for what was seen. What proof do you have that it wasn't the ISS?

That's RIGHT!! It's a shame that they have been allowed to have their orbits disintegrate, but they're really not needed any more. They could produce a flare so bright it would cost your shadow!
