Runner here, I've gone through Brooks, ASICS, NB, Mizuno, pretty much anything but Nike because their toeboxes do not work with my feet.

I've pretty much settled on ASICS and Mizunos, I've done a few marathons in various model years of Wave Riders and can't complain.

I'd also look into Danskos - they're more of the "long wearing work shoe" kind of use, RNs swear by 'em.

These do act like a larger heatsink than glass ones, so it's not necessarily a bad idea to preheat them before adding coffee. It's really only something you have to worry about with very light roasts that take pretty high slurry temps to brew properly.

The effect is a lot more noticeable with plastic vs. ceramic V60 pourovers.

My Google Drive is my cloud backup for my archive, so that would sort of defeat that purpose.

I have a Workspace account through my former school, so I'm waiting to see what's going to happen with that. Sort of thinking about using a family member for an off-site backup, it won't be real time but most of the stuff doesn't change that much other than photo projects. My array currently is a little under 8TB, so Google One isn't going to be the answer.

One time I was working for an A/V contractor. We had a bunch of our techs pack up all their tools and a bunch of the product to be installed in a wooden crate, to have it shipped via truck to the site.

When they got there, they realized they'd not brought any drills with them to unscrew the crate.

Not the brightest bunch.

Yep, and if you somehow manage to survive and end up in a bad state, your next of kin have some planning on what to do - when my dad had a stroke in 2019, the first thing I did was look at his advance directive to find out what I could tell his care team about his wishes.

Just bought a washer/dryer pair from HD and couldn't be happier.

Have also bought Husky-branded sockets and combo wrenches in various sizes, sure, they're not as good as Snap-On or Wright, but if you need a particular socket to do a job, they work just fine. And HD carries Estwing hammers, made in the US and some of the best hammers you can buy.

Not sure where this is coming from.
