Actually, as I mentioned I read about some progress in 2019 with "Epidermal VR". But after that I have not read anything new about it and it has been 3+ years. Thus, I wanted to know if anyone here has any information about other companies developing some haptics for touch.

> Here we go again with FDVR……no offense but I think this subreddit should be renamed to full dive vr instead of singularity…….
Interesting proposition. Since FDVR will be one of the most important technological advances of the future, I think few people might even agree with you here.
> am I the only that thinks full dive vr would be a bad idea (that’s if it ever becomes possible)…..imagine if someone just hacks you how are you going to remove that technology…..will you be in that Virtual reality and real life at the same time?
Nope. Tbh, I too think sometimes of the potential dangers of me being hacked and stuff. But since, it is a mere pessimistic speculation by me, I do not overthink it. I assume, Nobody here can predict even with 50 perecent accuracy about what will happen 10-15 years in the future. If you have been following this sub for the last few months, you will see that the things in A.I are getting faster and unpredictable.

> Again there isn’t much research into haptics because as I said PEOPLE play games to relax not do a whole marathon in virtual reality so it’s not really a big thing hence it’s not popular for companies to put much effort into it
Okay.
> And genitalis ????
Yup. That is the main thing. No risk of STDs, No risk of unwanted pregnancy, No risk of being secretly filmed and then blackmailed, ability to live out multiple fantasies at once, availability of sex at demand, etc.. There is so much appeal to Virtual Sex using haptics or FDVR. It will remove the involuntary dependency of humans on other humans for sex.
> Go to the club
If only it were this easy to go and get laid.
> pay a prostitute idk
There are tons of issues with this, Legality being the primary one. But still thank you for your response.
Edit : Added the last sentence in the second paragraph.

That was my question actually. That, does anyone here knows about undergoing development of haptics about various body areas including sexual organs.
For hands, there are HaptX gloves.
For torso, there is bHaptics suit and the Tesla suit.
For skin, I want to know.
For genitals, I definitely and most importantly want to know.

Hi !
I wasn't talking about FDVR since that is the final step and I acknowledge that it will take some time.
What I was asking about was something like a Haptic suit which is for all of the body (which includes sexual organs).
I read an article about some sort of haptic skin called "Epidermal VR". I tried searching about it's progress but there has been no mention of it after 2019.

Yeah sure. I was only confused/bothered by the word "control" which the redditor (to whom I replied to) mentioned. I was like, " why do you wanna control it ? "
Professional artists can use it and average people can use it too. Nobody should be the gatekeepers of this technology whether they are corporations or a group of people. That was my point.

> the phrase “seize the means of production” is basically saying “artists should control the image-generating A.I. rather than media corporations”
Nobody should control AI, especially not the artists who are so bitter about it on Twitter/other social media platforms. It is again a group of people controlling something. The difference here is that those group of people are "artists" instead of a "corporation".
A.I should be available for anyone and everyone to use. Otherwise, it could turn into a scenario where these "artists" might set arbitrary conditions for the AI use and won't allow anyone who isn't a professional artist to use it.
And again, what will be the use of "artists" in the future if anyone can generate the type of art they want using A.I ?

Yup, It can be used by couples too who are in LDR or who want to explore their sexual kinks without involvement of any other person.
But in terms of sexual stuff, I imagine it will mostly be used for casual sex with non-sentient AIs by individuals. This will eradicate the involuntary dependency of humans on other humans for sex. With this, sex for fun will be much better than casual sex with other humans.
Imagine organising a huge sex party with non-sentient AIs on a spaceship near a strange planet and doing whatever the hell you want to with them, or living out your extremely taboo fantasies which you do not wanna disclose to other people. After this, sex with other humans will be an option and not a necessity.
