Ah that sucks. I used to live on Sutton and there was a really good coffee spot that had since closed I think. But yeah not a ton of good option, but I guess you could walk closer to downtown Starbucks near the Amp

As it should, I don’t disagree. I think it has potential to grow more than 1% each year lol

I don’t see that anywhere on the government census website. I see a decrease in population from 2020-2021 (not unusual with COVID).
There is really no argument to be had against the thought that this city is a bit resistant to development.

Cities should evolve and grow/change. Dumb to fight stuff like this

Reply to Are there any Baltimore or Pittsburgh area transplants living in the Providence area? We are considering moving and I have some questions! by marissarae
Moved here from MA and have lived in PVD for 6 years now. Food is amazing, very walkable city, but it’s small and not busy by any means. You can find stuff to do for sure.
Lots artsy stuff going on which is cool, which is why they call it the “creative capital”. Housing is expensive in the city, but they’re building some new complexes so we will see if rent stabilizes.
Crime isn’t bad depending where you live. I think South Providence is rough, but downtown/east side/fox point are nice. West end has gotten nicer too. All things considered i love it here. I’ve moved/traveled to many places in the US and I always found the food here to be the best. Good luck!
