Buzz around an actor can often be spontaneous. It fluctuates with a cycle similar to the news. Once the buzz begins, then they start becoming elevated.

The Oscar’s are a farce, we shouldn’t put much stock in what they care about. I understand and like what you’re getting at. My concern is that we have to judge films and have actors compete in an award circuit when it should all be subjective.
