I used the audiobook to go through all the classics. It's a really great book. Dickens hasn't been this popular for this long without a reason.

Bleak House is still my fave cuz wow does that translate to today!!!

I don't know if a more paced narrator would help, but Davina Porter and Scott Brick are clear, enunciate well, and have a pretty steady pace. There are others, but my brain can't hold that catalog.

If you have audible, read the reviews. Somebody always reviews the narrators. See what they say.

There are a ton of great ones. I pointed out these two specifically as they have a lot of material to choose from, and with a stable voice, it might be a bit easier on you.

The screen dimming and fon't adjusting is great for me on app and the Kindle. I'm very light sensitive so ... Godsend.

My library is okay. The digital selection is county wide so it's better.

Generally you can only get a card for the county you legally reside in. (Florida libraries have a special thing for snowbirds).

I have family on other countries, and we've shared our library cards so we can find different things. Maybe not totally legal - I don't know. But it has worked for us.

I love the book. There is more detail about what the "shine" is, and while the movie was decent, I prefer the character building and the spooky little things in the book that would make a movie way too long.

And yes, it scared the shit out of me several times. The lady in the bath is way scarier in the book.

Disclaimer: I love almost every Stephen King book I ever read so def bias here.
