Reply to Japanese researchers identify three intestinal bacteria linked with Lewy body dementia, potentially providing new biomarkers and new avenues for therapeutic development by viomelifesciences
I makes me so happy to see more and more research related to our gut microbiomes. A thoroughly screwed up microbiome will screw a person up. I love seeing the research on this front progress so that eventually we can start treating to prevent these medical issues.

I spent the entirety of my teen years, plus a few on both ends of that, in Berwick. I didn't say what I said based on reputation, I based it on living in the hellhole.

You could try Berwick if you're looking to be depressed, get into hard drugs, and live in a shithole.

Hands down, no contest, the best meal I've ever had in my life was at Copperhead Grille in Allentown. You've gotta drive by to get to KOP, and I highly recommend stopping. Also recommend a stop in Bethlehem to see where Peeps are born.

Reply to A study found that "about 30% of the sample was able to discontinue the use of prescription medications because of cannabis." by OregonTripleBeam
Every individual who has tried cannabis to replace a prescription medication is just another anecdote, but there's a hell of a lot of us anecdotes or would be anecdotes out here.
I've done the at home test to see if I could replace meds with cannabis. If I could get a reliable, strain specific local source (or if I got suddenly rich so I could afford it legally) I could sleep like the dead without any of the weird sleep drug side effects in the morning and be entirely opioid free. This would replace two meds. It would also clear up a handful of medical problems caused by the opioids.
Cannabis improves lives. And I'm really enjoying seeing more and more science that is bringing this from anecdotes to scientifically proven.

Reply to comment by bk15dcx in Dietary gluten worsens hepatic steatosis by increasing inflammation and oxidative stress in ApoE−/− mice fed a high-fat diet by Meatrition
Gluten isn't a carbohydrate, it's a protein. As a general rule the term gluten used by itself without mention of the source is referring specifically the gluten of wheat, rye, barley, or triticale which is the gluten that must be avoided by people with celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, or anyone otherwise following a medically necessary gluten free diet. It wouldn't be overly difficult for researchers studying the effects of diet to devise a diet that swaps the gluten protein source for something else, without changing anything other aspect.
