Reply to It's obvious that I need to go to Alcoholics Anonymous, does anyone have advice on how to get started? by [deleted]
Fourteen years here. I'd advise to not focus on one, specific meeting, but instead hit a bunch of different ones. Some you'll like, others not so much. And some may surprise you. The flexibility and diversity AA provides is probably its greatest strength. The sense of "we're all in this together" is stronger the more groups you're exposed to.
All the best to you on your journey!

This has happened across many US states and has been happening for the past few weeks. Every day it’s a new state. Yesterday was Wisconsin’s day. It’s reportedly a series of robocalls coming from abroad. Clearly designed to cause chaos and little else.

Reply to Did anyone move to New Haven after going to college in Boston & how was your transition? by bioluminescent-bean
New Haven punches way above its weight in terms of arts, music, food, and culture, particularly in comparison to similarly sized cities. There's a lot to do. But it ain't Boston.
An odd thing about New Haven I've noticed is that Yale is disappointingly insular. When I lived there, it was rarely Yalies contributing to the city's broader arts and music scenes, which I found really surprising. There was so much brain power concentrated in one place which didn't really seem to enrich the city around it. When I visit now it doesn't seem like that's changed.
