honestly.. you need a small apartment. live in less square footage, but be able to afford it in my opinion. there is a nice building in RI that was converted from a brick mill to lofts.

you're making assumptions.. what you need is to get into a no rent situation where you live for free somehow to save money.. also learn about houses. get a preapproval letter to see how much you qualify for if anything. then shop for a small house or apartment with a good reserve fund in the hoa.

there is a girl who does surprisingly good decorations for parties and weddings out of cheap materials like balloons - she is an engineer and has this eye for color an shape and how to construct - she is based in MA. i doubt she charges a lot. the results look great. you don't need to go all out and spend too much on a wedding. just rent a place, a caterer or restaurant (probably cheaper), a musician, photographer and decorator.

shoveling snow, raking leaves - you won't have the energy or time to do it once you move in. personally, i have some red flags about you as a tenant based on your writing style, but it might that you have like PTSD from being a victim of a crime and living next to disruptive aggressive loud people in an unsafe area.

It's not dangerous.. BUT if you see anyone walk toward or behind you - cross the street before you brush shoulders with them and if they yell at you, just run away. If you don't let people within arm's reach, they can't push you down or draw a weapon and extort you. That is how most attacks happen - because the victim was nice and let the random person close to them while passing by.
