I've driven an hour south to Killington a dozen times this winter and see the same houses with dead Christmas wreaths on the doors for the last 3 months. Imagine having a ski home you don't even visit during ski season? Drives me crazy.

Lake St. Catherine is a popular one, and quite nice. That said there are a lot of reservoirs that also have beaches, like Wrightsville or Waterbury.

It used to be an actual lift served hill for Norwich. So there are several routes down at varying pitches. Obviously they are super “natural” now and overgrown but you’re still on a mostly cleared, albeit narrow, slope. Can also duck into the woods if you know your way around.

/r/NewToVermont and also I mean... you're getting downvoted because the housing market is very competitive here. No one's just walking into reddit and getting offered a house. At minimum, learn about the state and watch specific regions on real estate websites. Better yet, move and rent for awhile; meet people, discover different communities, contribute to the state's economy a bit. I am sure where you'd pick on a whim right now would be different after spending quality time here.

We actually replaced ours for maintenance reasons recently and recycled the old cat legitimately. Bolduc outside Montpelier did things by the book and requested a lot of identification to process the transaction.

Fox Market is an amazing business. Just want to double recommend this place. Love the owners and their dinner nights, the atmosphere, and the energy they bring to such a beautiful “old fashioned” area.
