Assuming we’re talking about new registrations only (single-platers could be grandfathered in), if someone can afford to buy a car they can probably afford to pay another $5 or whatever to cover the cost of a 2nd plate. The increased accountability of being able to identify bad drivers and prevent further damages and injuries would cancel out the cost of stamping out a second plate.

Elevated crossovers suck to use as a pedestrian and even more so when you’re elderly, disabled, or on a bike. Too much up and down just to cross the street. They have their place over limited access highways and train tracks but the better thing to do is just make the street safer to cross by slowing cars down and improving transit. Getting people out of their cars is far safer for everyone

No, they are a 501c3 nonprofit and would lose their tax exempt status if they did that. There are PACs in the city which basically align with BCGP values and they do make endorsements and campaign contributions. 5th Square is probably the most active in local politics
