I think I've ran into one or two Homes, and one Time. Are these meant to be full titles, or nouns within title names? I'd think there'd be at least one two-word title in the list...

Reply to ELI5 Why does getting hit in the nose have such a weird and different feeling from getting hit anywhere else? by dandizzles
It's one of the few immediately hittable features with a lasting sensory effect. I've never been punched in the tongue, but i imagine it would feel different from most other places.
I think it has to do with the fact that when you're hit in the nose, you experience all the other normal "getting hit" effects, but in combination with them, there's also the way it affects your smell perception and the way your brain processes non-smell signals as smells. There are a lot of nerve endings in that area the typical of which is interpreted as smells or nuances of smells, and after a hit they're firing due to swelling, damage, etc.

Reply to comment by valeyard89 in Eli5: how do pressurized spray cans work? Spray paint, cooking oils, hairspray etc by garlicknotter
The venturi effect you're describing is not how spray cans work. It is how (a lot of) spray guns work for airbrishing and stuff. But typical aerosol cans are literally just a substance that's kept liquid by the pressure it's under, with a straw dipped in it leading to a nozzle you can open. That's why once a can gets somewhat empty, you can only get a decent amount of paint/oil/hairspray/etc out if you hold it upright.

One aspect that hasn't been covered by comments thus far is that the nozzle which you operate with your finger has a straw attached to it. That straw is dipped in the liquid content. That's why if you start running low on paint, oil, hairspray, etc, you have to keep the can upright in order to get the intended content out.

Oof, my bad. Yeah, i didn't realize it came across that way. I meant that i recognize that Edge is a great browser, as you say, but that hasn't translated into popularity, due to what i think is the bad aftertaste from ie.

Quick google reports (well) under 6% of users use Edge, which is absolutely laughable for what's the default browser on more than 50% of users' OSs.
Good =/= popular, and bad =/= unpopular. Edge is good despite being utterly unpopular. And i think it's unpopular because M$ made short-term decisions with ie which burned their image. That's the point of my original comment. It's now taken them Billions to get Edge to this point, and this point is still laughably bad. Look forward to the exact same thing happening with Google the moment a viable alternative surfaces.
To reiterate - i hope they all enjoyed their respective moments in the sun, because they traded away decades of unpopularity for them.

We used to say that Microsoft will come to regret the bad will turning their browser into a fucking hellhole, and i think it's safe to say they have. I reckon they've spent more on Edge and corrective actions than they made by trying to turn ie into their bullshit corporate walled garden.
Now comes Google's reckoning. I hope they're happy with how much money they made during their time in the sun, because once they're dethroned, they're not coming back for decades, if ever.

Because i don't work with Karens like yourself, homie. If you ever brought actual value to a conversation or a collective, you might figure out why it is that simple questions receiving simple answers is a net benefit to a collective of humans. Won't bet on you figuring that out, as i very much doubt that you get along with people, in general, judging by your disposition there.
That thing you're doing, where you're projecting your sadness on strangers, then making fun of the sadness you projected on them - that's prolly indicative of some issues, homie. Consider having it checked out.
I asked a simple question, and like you pointed out yourself - i got a simple answer. I'm fucking smiling. Do reach out whenever you wanna whinge about it some more. Always here to point out to you that the thing which so upset you actually worked very well for everyone involved.

Lmao, won't you ever stop crying. Never did i double down. I didn't in fact single down, either. Whatever dipshittery goes on in your skull that's convinced you that i had an issue with the title - i never did. I just asked, politely, for someone to expand on it. And wouldn't you know it - someone fucking did. That was before you got upset by the fact that i asked a question and someone answered it. You soppy cunt haven't stopped whinging about it ever since.
Also, i dunno why you're lying to yourself as much as you do, but it's pretty obvious that you have some issues going on, so i guess i won't bother talking you out of it. It's not like you're capable of considering new information anyway. xD

Karen, you insulted me before i ever responded in kind. Why are you so mad that i asked a question and got an answer? What about it is so fucking hurtful to you? Why can't you live with the fact that i didn't know something, and i asked for it, and someone told it to me straight? Why are you so emotionally distraught over the fact that i found something out without googling it? Are things okay at home? Do you remember what grass feels like to the touch? Why won't you just see a therapist?
The mysteries in this thread are endless.

The only person who's answered my question never got a response from me, just an upvote. Some other Karen then tried flaming me for doing something which clearly worked - i asked a question and got the exact kind of answer i wanted (1 sentence to save me multiple Google searches and clickbait articles to read). Then, since that Karen started smelling up the place, you picked up the scent of a fellow Karen and showed up to keep flinging turds.
Shut up, Karen. Nobody cares that you're upset by the fact that i asked a question and got the perfect answer. I'm (insincerely) sorry that it upsets you that asking a question results in receiving an answer, and that you wished i would have Googled and read uninteresting shit instead. Stop pinking me, Karen. When you reply, it pings me. Then i gotta read the boring shit you type. Stop it.

Reply to ELI5: How is TikTok a national security risk? by mamawoman
Some people think it's very bad that a foreign government can just request Tiktok's data there gathering on their users, and they just have to comply. They're okay with the US government doing it with insta, snapchat, Facebook, etc, however. And they're okay with those US companies selling that data on an open market indiscriminately, even if the buyer is a company affiliated with the Chinese government.
So, uh, all those companies are security risks, because they all monitor personal data invasively, and handle it poorly. People are mostly mad at Tiktok, cause it's Chinese.
