If you’re willing to travel outside of Boston, Da LaPosta in Newton. Get the chicken parm as well.

The carry on limits are very generous, are you sure you will need to check luggage?
If you don’t, you can roll up right before departure and walk on the train.
If you need to check a bag, I’d suggest arriving about an hour before.
Editing: doesn’t look like checked bag is available on those trains. Just an additional baggage fee if you have more than the allotted amount or luggage.

Can’t go wrong with chocolate chip cookies! Go to the store, grab a bag of Nestle chocolate chips. On the back of the bag is recipe for Toll House cookies. Buy ingredients, follow instructions and enjoy!

Since you mentioned BHA and a landlord, I’ll assume you have a voucher issues through them? I don’t necessarily know the protocol for infestations but absolutely reporting it to the housing authority is where I would start.

Is Newburyport too close since you’re southern NH? If not, I’d suggest the Essex Street Inn. I stayed there last year while in town for a party and splurged on the suite with the hot tub. It was 2 levels, plenty of space and reminded me more of an apartment than a hotel. Close to all the shops and restaurants.

I haven’t actually taken the Acela but that’s because I personally don’t think the advantages are worth the extra cost. The NE Regional is fine, the stops they make are really quick. There’s a cafe or you can take snacks and they offer a quiet car if you don’t want to chance being near someone who’s extra talkative (happened to me last weekend on the way home from NYC).

Da La Posta in Newton has delicious tiramisu. My friend made it homemade for all occasions for years and this rivals hers. Call ahead to make sure they have it.
