With the expense of materials and labor along with the sale of million-dollar condos on Mountain Road, he found it difficult to justify building affordable housing on his lower-village property and intentionally refuse that kind of windfall.

And I got downvoted like crazy a while ago for suggesting that the main reason is that it's more profitable to build higher value for the investment cost properties.

This is about new construction. That's where your started. Contractors aren't making cheap housing because it's not as profitable for almost as much effort. Period. No one, that isn't on some sort of government funded or outreach/charity endeavor is making cheap housing. And go talk to a realtor or a lender about $90-150k homes and prospective buyers credit. I'm in a family of bankers and mortgage brokers.

Where's that pic of the long distance shot of the city & the U.S.Steel building, with the UPMC logo, and the eye of Sauron floating over the top?

That would be the optimistic outcome, imho. Based on Dobbs, where they went beyond answering the question at hand and just gutted Roe, this court is quite willing to find the means to justify the ends. My first post about how they're shrugging off these election related requests, out of hand, sure gives me the feeling like they're trying to play both sides. Like they're trying to bank positive, broad public opinion with these moderate decisions, because they're saving up for a big blast.
