Good to see there's still people getting irrationally upset by well-meaning condolences. What exactly do you want people to do? Fly on over to the hospital to go see him?

And no, most people who say "thoughts and prayers" aren't actually thinking they're making a difference, they do so because they genuinely mean well and are hoping for the best outcome in an awful situation that is entirely out of their hands.

No need to be cynical about people earnestly voicing their support for a man whose life is on the line and his loved ones.
