That's not unreasonable then depending on the size of the office and what was ordered, especially if that includes a tip.

I don't really want to give George Santos any benefit of the doubt but that's actually not that unreasonable if the office picked up dinner for the staff with some regularity. I mean I did two dinner seminars a week prior to COVID and put about $100,000 on my business credit card every year at local restaurants. That's not even including picking up the tab for food during weekly call sessions, etc.
I don't know how long that bill is over but if it's a year then that works out to $500 a week and if the rigatoni is $23 then that's two weekly meals for a relatively small office. Add in drinks or dessert and that's one weekly meal for a relatively small office. He should resign but I don't actually see anything glaring about this.

I miss The WB, especially the very early years.
I was too young to see the very beginning of Fox but it was fun to see a new "major" network pop up. Dawson's Creek and Buffy were huge, of course, but I loved Hyperion Bay, Roswell, Popular, Unhappily Ever After, and oddly enough Savannah.
For some reason I always remember Savannah. It was a soap opera aimed at adults that my mom liked. My dad took a second job at one point so he was gone most nights and I felt bad that my mom was by herself so I'd sit next to her and watch.

Yes, I do know what downplaying means. Do you?
We're talking about them obstructing their license plate. That's an extremely minor traffic violation. That's not downplaying it. It's an accurate summation of exactly what it is.
I mean what do you think the punishment is for someone who doesn't have an occupation you hate who obstructs their license plate? Execution? Life in prison?

I'm not down playing the severity.
It's a minor traffic violation. Heck, it's so common place that you might even do it yourself. You're just throwing a temper tantrum because you don't like cops. That's all.

That's an awful analogy even for this sub.
A surgeon going into surgery without sanitizing creates an insane amount of risk that has absolutely nothing to do with a cop obstructing their license plate. Sure, I'd care if my surgeon didn't wash his hands going into surgery but I couldn't care less if he didn't wash his hands going into just about anything else.

I'm licking boots for pointing out that I think it's wrong but harping on it as much as you do is childish?

> I frankly dont get the obsession of some people over this stuff
Reddit hates cops. That's pretty much all it amounts to.
I mean I don't think they should be doing it but constantly having pictures of cops breaking a very minor traffic law on the front page of this sub just seems childish. This sub wouldn't care at all if they had any other occupation.

It just didn't seem to ever really be going anywhere for me.

It might not seem like it at times but race relations have changed tremendously over the decades. So much so that it's really hard to explain to younger people just how important OJ Simpson was to race relations.
I saw a thread a couple of years ago where people kept comparing him to Barack Obama or The Rock in how popular he was but those were famous black men. OJ wasn't black. He was OJ. He really transcended race in a way that's just impossible to really explain.
