If it’s an older building you’ll most likely see a few house Centipedes. They are extremely creepy looking and also move in a serpentine motion which makes it even worse. That being said they’re harmless and murder other bugs, especially Silverfish which are also common in basement apartments. I still use a bit of generic non toxic Bug Begone spray and taped up a few holes/cracks and that definitely cut down on the amount I saw when I first moved in.

The insulation of being semi underground is also great. My place stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The downside of being semi underground is the natural light though. Despite having full size windows above the ground line I definitely get much less natural light than the upstairs areas so that’s definitely a con

Have you considered electric heating with solar? The installation for us (the electric heating part) was very quick and painless, they heat/cool the house very quickly and the solar offsets most of the cost so our electric bill has stayed roughly the same

Only downside is that the units inside look like giant printers, we call them our air printers lol

I wonder if this is a thing with CT. When I was in school in upstate NY I got to tour the local PD station as part of a Criminal Justice elective and they showed us a huge bookshelf filled with containers of fake IDs sorted by state. CT ones took up almost an entire shelf while most other states only had one or two boxes

H&M at Westfarms is a good bet. They have plenty of button downs, ones meant for tucking in and untucked, and tons of pants that are acceptable in a professional setting.

Obviously won’t be the highest quality but I have two suits from there which I’ve gotten plenty of compliments on despite them being dirt cheap. Also don’t be afraid to snag a pair of pants you really like and go get them hemmed if need be. A lot of places will do it for $10~$20

Express also has plenty of business appropriate attire although you will see a price hike over H&M as you’re paying for higher quality. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, or always take a look at r/malefashionadvice. Most people there are extremely friendly and helpful. Best of luck
